  • Panagiotis M. Hatzidimitriou was born in Mytilene, Lesvos in 1958. He graduated from Geological department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1980 and obtained hid Ph.D. (Seismogenic sources and seismic volumes of the Aegean and surrounding area) in 1984.

    He was Lecturer of Seismology (1985-1989), Assistant Professor (1989-1994) and Associate Professor (1994-present) in the Geophysical Laboratory of the same University. During 1989 he was for post-doctoral studies at the University of Southern California, USA.

    His research interests include the attenuation structure of the Aegean and surrounding area, seismicity and seismotectonics, aftershock sequences, earthquake source parameters, local site effects on seismic motions and seismic hazard.

    Field and instrumentation experience:
